About the Journal

The Indian Journal of Current Legal Issues (IJCLI) is published bi-monthly by the NSBA Women”s College of law and is dedicated to the examination of important contemporary legal, political and social issues. It is an international
peer reviewed, open access, multidisciplinary journal that provides a platform to academicians, researchers, professionals; especially budding students and social scientists dealing with interdisciplinary academic research into law
and legal institutions. It is designed to encourage interest in all matters relating to law, with an emphasis on matters of theory and on broad issues arising from the relationship of law to other disciplines. No topic of legal
interest is excluded from consideration. It strives to enhance the understanding of the complex connections between law, culture, social structure, and society by focusing on social scientific studies of law and law-like systems of
rules, institutions, processes, and behaviours. The connection between Law and Social Sciences is an expanding area of legal scholarship which examines where law meets the realities of society.

Aims and Scope

The IJCLI is published online and in print on bi-monthly basis. The aim of the IJCLI is to publish high quality legal research which is of contemporary relevance to national and international scenario. IJCLI invites original papers,
concise and current review articles, technical reports and short communications-containing new insight into any aspect of Law and Social Sciences. Specific topics of interest include but are not limited to following:Intellectual
Property Law, Trademarks Law, Copyright Law, Personal Law, Commercial Law, Cyber Law, Space Law, Open standards and entrepreneurship, Competition in two-sided markets, High-tech and anti-trust policy, Law of common areas, Labour
Law, Environmental and Energy Law, Human Rights/Civil Liberty, Corporate Finance Law, Taxation Law, Public Law Fundamentals, Transport Law, Tourism Law, Immigration Law, Criminal Law, International Economics and Trade Law, Public

Author Guidelines

The Journal considers only original research papers for publication. Submission of an article implies that the work that has been described has not been previously published in print or electronic format, has not been copyrighted,
and is not under consideration by another publication or electronic medium, and its submission has been approved by all the authors and by the institute where the work was carried out. Authors may not send the same manuscript to
more than one journal concurrently. If this occurs, the Editor may return the paper without review, reject the paper.

  • The article should not be overly technical, but practical and engaging.
  • The article should also mandatorily include the author”s view, in the conclusion, taking into considerations the aspects/contentions discussed throughout the manuscript.
  • It is the author”s responsibility to ensure that all references and citations are correct, and the submissions do not contain any material that infringes copyright or is defamatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful or litigious.
  • The copyright of the manuscript will vest with the NBSA Women”s College of Law. Due accreditation will be given to the authors.
  • For the purpose of anonymity, the author/s shall not disclose their identities anywhere in the body of the manuscript.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right for modification of the manuscript to maintain the standard and quality of the submission. The board will notify its decision and other relevant information through email.

One of the authors of the paper will be the corresponding author, who will deal with all the processes on behalf of the other authors.

Role of the Corresponding Author

The corresponding author (or co-author designee) will serve on behalf of all co-authors as the primary correspondent with the editorial office during the submission and review process. If the manuscript is accepted, the
corresponding author will review an edited typescript and proof, and will be identified as the corresponding author in the published article. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the Acknowledgment section of
the manuscript is complete and is responsible for ensuring that the conflict of interest disclosures reported in the Acknowledgment section of the manuscript are accurate and up-to-date.

Changes in Authorship

Authors should determine the order of authorship among them and should settle any disagreements before submitting their manuscript. Changes in authorship (i.e., order, addition, and deletion of authors) should be discussed and
approved by all authors. Any requests for such changes in authorship after initial manuscript submission and before publication should be explained in writing to the editor in a letter or e-mail from all authors.

Processing times

Following are some approximate timing for different stages of the peer review process for a typical manuscript:

  • Rejection without peer review: 8 days
  • Submission for peer review: 3 weeks
  • Acceptance to online publication: 8 weeks
  • Acceptance to print publication: 10 weeks

Peer review

All papers submitted to the journal are seen by two or more members of the Editorial Board. At this stage, some are rejected without peer review owing to lack of novelty, involvement of normal subjects, serious methodological flaws
or work lying outside the scope of the journal. Suitable articles are sent to at least two experts for review, whose reports are returned to the assigned member of the Editorial Board and the Editor.

Plagiarism and academic misconduct

Plagiarism is the use of others” published and unpublished ideas or words (or other intellectual property) without due reference or permission and/or their presentation as new and original points. Plagiarism is serious academic
misconduct and will be dealt with accordingly. Text may be checked for passages plagiarized from other publications at the Editor”s discretion.

Article Processing Charges

There is currently no charge. As IJCLI is an open access journal; therefore it provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to all published articles. Furthermore, it allows all readers to view, download, print, and
redistribute any published article without any subscription charges which enables an expanded distribution of research work than the traditional publishing. Readers can use articles for any non-commercial purpose provided the source
is acknowledged. So, Authors are generally required to contribute Rs. 1000 (for Indian Authors), SR 300 (for KSA Authors) and USD 80 (other Foreign Authors) in the form of Article Processing Charges including those of peer review
management, journal production and online hosting and archiving. Authors from low income countries will be benefitted a total of 25% discounts on Article Processing Charges but during the year 2017 no Article Processing Charges
shall be applied in order to promote and encourage budding researchers and academicians.

submitted online in the journal section of the website: nbsalawcollege.in The preferred maximum length for Article is 7000- 8000 words, Essay 5000-6000 words, Note/ Case Comment 3000-4000 words and Book Review 1500-2500 words
including abstract (200-250 words) and footnotes or endnotes.

  • Use of British English is recommended.
  • Reference: Footnotes are preferred to Endnotes.
  • Uniform pattern of footnoting shall be followed.
  • Author”s can use any uniform method of citations.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

With a view to help the deserving meritorious needy students admitted to B.A.LL.B the College might reimburse half the fee of any student (maximum 5% of the intake) keeping in view his/her financial status on the recommendations of the committee to be constituted by the Principal.
Scholarships to the candidates of SC/ST/OBC and also to the students of unreserved categories having family income less than Rs.1.00 Lac per annum are available under various schemes of the department of social welfare, Govt. of Maharashtra.
